Penland School of Crafts
21st Annual Benefit Auction
August 11 and 12, 2006
Set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Penland School of Crafts Benefit Auction is the premier craft collectors event in the Southeast. This is a festive weekend featuring the auction of more than 150 original works donated by current and former Penland instructors and resident artists, including some of the countrys most significant craft artists.
The 2006 auction will include an excellent group of works in wood, which were donated in support of the new Penland wood studio. This year's collector's lecture will be by noted authority on contemporary furniture Bebe Johnson, co-founder of the Pritam & Eames gallery.
Our auctioneer is the marvelous Dan Klein, director of Dan Klein Associates.
All proceeds benefit Penland School of Crafts.
This is one of the glass centerpieces created by James Vella for the 2006 benefit auction.
The centerpieces, which vary in size and color, will be available for sale at the auction.
