Richard Jolley, Tina Oldknow, and Tommie Rush - Glass Insight
Led by glass artists Tommie Rush and Richard Jolley, this class is an immersion in glass for enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs. Scholar Dan Klein and curator Tina Oldknow will present lectures and discussions on historic and contemporary glass, the American Studio Glass Movement, collecting, and the future of glass. Participants will get hands-on instruction in the Penland flameworking studio and the hot shop. The class will also include demonstrations, a barbecue with area artists, visits to local studios, and presentations by several North Carolina glass artists. We will try to give you as much glass information and insight as four days can hold.
