Many hands making a fairly random trace monotype in Susan Webster‘s first-session printmaking class. Here’s how you make a trace monotype: Roll a layer of ink onto a glass surface. Place a sheet of paper very lightly on top of it. Lay another sheet of paper on top of that. Make marks with any mark-making tool you choose, but try not to rest your hands on the surface, because any place where pressure is applied, ink will transfer to the paper.
Here’s the print coming off the ink.
